Shooting process

Hey guys! In today's blog, I am going to be discussing part of my shooting process.

I will only be talking about two ceratin scenes. The first one is the scene in front of the house. The shooting process for this went pretty well. Although I had to redo my entire film, I think it turned out a lot better. I was also able to get another actress to play the part of the best friend, which literally saved me because if not I would of had to play it myself, which was why it didn't look good the first time I filmed it, because I had no one to film the parts with both characters. So yeah, I was really grateful that I was able to have my friend play the best friend.

Here are some pictures of the behind-the-scenes and process of my filming. In this scene, Its where the main girl, Maya, realizes the picture isn't actually her. For this shot, I wanted it to be a two-shot of them and a mid-shot of them to show their expressions and reactions at the same time. This will create more emotion in the film.

For this scene, as well as most of the scenes, I had filmed it by hand without any use of a tripod. And at first I was annoyed and worried that not being able to use a large tripod would affect my film and make it look bad, but I actually think the slightly unstillness of the camera adds a kind of eery affect to the film and more of a mystery feel to it, if that makes sense.

In this scene,, I wanted to get a shot of the food being placed on the table. I wanted it to be shown in a similar way to a POV by making it an above shot and angling it downward on the item. I think this gives it a cool look. And as we know, I don't have camera equipment, so I did have to use my own abilities, but I think it came out well.

So that is just some of the shooting process for you guys and I can't wait to be showing you guys my editing process!!
