Set design creation

Hey guys! For this blog, I will be discussing how I created my set and how I wanted it to be designed for my film opening. 

I will mainly focus on the bedroom set. 

For the bedroom, I wanted it to portray Maya's character by showing the things she likes to do around the room. 

Maya is a teenage girl who likes to draw and paint. She is also a very studious girl. She wants to get into a good college, so she studies a lot and is very on top of her academics. She gets good grades and does well in her classes. She is also very outgoing at the same time. Even though she is good in school, she also wants to keep up a good social life. She likes to go to parties and hang out with her friends. 

So to showcase this, I redesigned my room with items and decorations I knew would represent Maya well. 

On my desk, I added drawings and sketches as well as paintings of my own to show Maya's artistic side. I also put some SAT practice books and math books on the desk to show Maya's academic side. There are also reading books to show how Maya likes to read. There are other items like a digital camera and makeup to represent Maya's outgoing and social personality.

Lighting:

For the lighting, I wanted to keep the natural daylight that comes from my window. This is because the scene is supposed to be set in the morning/afternoon, to be specific, 11-2pm.
