The camera shots/angles quiz was a project/assignment that was given in my Aice Media Studies class. For this assignment we were instructed to create a story using only 15 pictures. We were told to choose two inanimate objects and use specific kinds of shots and/or angles in our story.
For my assignment my partner and I decided to make our story about the life of a sponge. We wanted to focus on presenting the real struggles and capturing the difficult challenges of a sponge going through the stages of hard work in cleaning the dirty dishes. We used many shots to help create meaning to our story. For example we used an Over the Shoulder shot to display the sponges emotion of exhaustion and stress when having to face yet another round of dirty dishes. For the first shot we used an Establishing shot to show the full setting of the sponge and the sink with dirty dishes. Here we are able to depict how the sponge is and its attitude towards the dishes before facing the hard difficulties that he will endure. We showed the courage and the positive attitude of the sponge.
In my assignment there could have been some improvements. One being that we could have taken the pictures not as rushed and really focus on making sure the photos showed meaning and clarity of the story.
